The update that will be coming in the next two months will allow Wear OS Smartwatch users to download music and podcasts directly to your smartwatch.
Spotify for Wear OS is about to get a major update in the coming months as it will allow you to download music and podcasts directly to your smartwatch for the first time ever.
To be able to use this feature you will have to update your Spotify app and is only available to Spotify Premium subscribers.
Once the feature is live and you’ve updated your Spotify App you will be able to download anything within Spotify’s massive library to your smartphone. Simply tap the ‘Download to Watch’ button, nice and easy!
Spotify has offered this feature on alternative smartwatch platforms such as Garmin and Apple Watch, however, this is a first for hardware using Google’s software.
It’s no coincidence that the same day as Spotify made this announcement on the same day Samsung introduced its new Galaxy watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 classic. Spotify has a long history with the company and android phones in general, in fact, Samsung phones come with Spotify installed as standard and acts as the default music player.
