Spotify’s GLOW programme is shining a light on LGBTQIA+ artists with global playlists, spotlight campaigns, and real-world celebrations all year round.

Spotify is marking Pride Month by highlighting the global impact of its GLOW programme, which supports LGBTQIA+ creators not just during June, but throughout the year. Since it launched in early 2023, GLOW has become a powerful way for artists to gain visibility and connect with listeners across the world.

What sets GLOW apart is its year-round focus. Rather than being a seasonal campaign, it offers ongoing support to a growing list of LGBTQIA+ artists. Over 100 creators have already benefited from the initiative, gaining access to marketing help, editorial placements and partnership opportunities. Many of these artists have also featured in major advertising campaigns across cities like London, New York and Bangkok. According to Spotify, “GLOW playlists have racked up more than 371 million streams and enabled more than 86 million discoveries.”

A key part of GLOW is its flagship playlist, which is refreshed regularly to spotlight new and established talent. For Pride 2025, Spotify is focusing on six standout artists from around the globe. These include Esteman from Colombia, RUSLANA from Spain, Hakushi Hasegawa from Japan, ALIE BLACKCOBRA from Thailand, Craig Lucas from South Africa, and UK-based act Sophie and the Giants. Together, they represent a broad mix of musical styles and personal stories, helping to show the depth and range of talent within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Alongside the main playlist, fans can explore themed selections that cover a wide range of genres and moods. These include Pride Party, full of upbeat tracks perfect for celebrating; Club Resistance, which features bold and boundary-pushing music; Transcend, shining a light on trans voices; BRILLO, showcasing Latin American LGBTQIA+ artists; and The Ballroom (Vogue), a playlist inspired by the iconic ballroom scene.

GLOW goes beyond music, too. For podcast lovers, the hub features collections like “Queer Creators We Love” and “Spotlighting LGBTQIA+ Stories,” with shows such as Therapuss with Jake Shane and Two Dykes And A Mic. In countries where audiobooks are available, the platform also includes LGBTQIA+ storytelling through a mix of genres, from memoir to fantasy.

Spotify is bringing GLOW beyond the screen, with community events around the world that connect artists, fans and creators. As Spotify puts it, “We’re also taking a moment to showcase the continued growth and impact of GLOW, our global music platform that amplifies LGBTQIA+ creators and celebrates their contributions to music and culture year-round.” For independent artists, it’s a chance to gain exposure and be part of a global celebration of identity and creativity. Dive into the GLOW hub to discover new music, stories and voices that deserve to be heard.
