LABS+ is now out of beta! Spitfire Audio’s new sample subscription service
Spitfire Audio officially launches their sample library subscription service, LABS+ after three months of testing.
Renowned for their high quality sounds and sample libraries for music producers, Spitfire Audio works with world famous composers, musicians, studios and media companies. One of the brands most loved products, LABS features 59 packs that are completely free to use. Earlier this year, Spitfire Audio announced a subscription tier launching called LABS+. Today, LABS+ launches out of beta after three months of beta testing.
LABS+ continues the high quality, industry-leading, collection of samples and sounds that made the free tier famous. LABS+ is designed for creators of all levels and features recordings used in many Hollywood scores and hit records.
While LABS will stay as a free option, LABS+ is the company’s new subscription offering, that features partner offerings and continuous library updates. LABS+ are launching new packs every month. There’s a free 14-day trial available, then subscriptions are priced at $12.99 per month or $99 per year. Subscription revenue will help pay royalties to the musicians, artist and studio behind the collection. To date, Spitfire Audio has distributed over £25 million in royalties to the music community.
To celebrate the launch, Spitfire Audio are launching LABS+ with a new collection of Amapiano sounds. Originating from the streets of South Africa, Amapiano means “the pianos” in Zulu language. The genre is known for its rolling basslines and log drum rhythms. Amapiano Foundations is launched in collaboration with London-based curator and DJ Shannen SP, who has ties to the Amapiano scene, and was performed by Major League DJz, Jay Music and MDU aka TRP.
Not everyone can be so lucky to record at Abbey Road or AIR Studios, but that shouldn’t keep them from making music that sounds fantastic.
