Soundtoys announce Superplate – a plate reverb plugin with a lot to offer
Soundtoys has released the Superplate, a new plate reverb plugin for macOS and Windows.

Soundtoys are describing the plugin as the “big brother” of their Little Plate plugin. And with five different reverb algorithms… Superplate is set to be pretty super.
The five algorithms in Superplate include classic 140, goldfol 240, audicon, echo plate III, and stocktronics rx 4000, and the plugin provides a number of parameters for adjusting the settings of the reverb. The plugin also includes Soundtoys’ “signature” infinity decay time functionality, in addition to settings for pre-delay, a modulator, and lowpass & highpass filters.
SuperPlate emulates the unique tonal character of five classic electromechanical plate reverbs – without the massive investment and back-breaking weight of the originals. Its advanced algorithms capture a level of unmatched realism and versatility and create luscious, immersive effects.

Furthermore, Soundtoys’ Superplate reverb offers a drawable EQ with its own filters and two bell curves. The EQ also offers a unique new auto decay feature which acts like a compressor, attenuating the decay time. Meanwhile, Superplate also gives you stereo modulation for the whole reverb effect so that you can work with either mono or stereo reverb.
Availability
Soundtoys’ new Superplate reverb plugin will be available to all Effect Rack 5 users as an additional purchase. Meanwhile, the plugin will also be available as a part of the Soundtoys 5 bundle which includes a total of 22 audio effects.
However, Soundtoys say that its 5.4 updates for Effect Rack will see SuperPlate integrated into Effect Rack with a new suite of presets.
