SoundCloud and Twitch are launching SoundCloud Sessions, connecting live DJ performances with ongoing music discovery and fan engagement.

SoundCloud has announced SoundCloud Sessions, a new partnership with Twitch that aims to give emerging DJs more opportunities to grow their audiences through livestreaming and music discovery.

Launching this week, the recurring performance series brings together Twitch’s established live music community and SoundCloud’s discovery platform, with the first edition featuring performances from Jessu, Conrad Taylor, DJ Ken Dollaz and more.

According to SoundCloud, the collaboration is designed to create “a new pathway for DJ discovery” by connecting Twitch’s live audience with the artists and scenes already thriving on SoundCloud.

SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton said the partnership combines “Twitch’s live digital stage with SoundCloud’s native discovery ecosystem,” helping transform “raw, live moments into digital discovery” while building on the community-driven culture that has long defined DJing.

Beyond the livestream

While livestreams can generate huge engagement, keeping that momentum going afterwards is often the bigger challenge. SoundCloud Sessions is built around extending the life of those performances, giving fans more ways to discover creators once the broadcast ends.

Participating DJs will stream through Twitch’s DJ Program before benefiting from SoundCloud’s wider promotional ecosystem, including editorial support, social amplification and features in newsletters such as Weekly Download and Dusk Till Dawn. As Digital Music News reports, top participants will also be eligible for additional promotional opportunities and future activations across both platforms.

To take part, DJs must be enrolled in Twitch’s DJ Program and link their SoundCloud profile in their Twitch bio.

A growing focus on DJ discovery

The partnership arrives as electronic music continues to see strong growth on SoundCloud. The platform says electronic music remains one of its fastest-growing genres, with #DJset uploads increasing by 39% year over year. Meanwhile, genres including hard techno and UK garage continue to build highly engaged communities through direct artist-to-fan interaction.

It’s another example of platforms investing in music discovery beyond traditional streaming. Rather than relying solely on playlists or algorithmic recommendations, live content is becoming an increasingly important way for artists to introduce new listeners to their music and build lasting communities.

What’s next for DJs?

SoundCloud Sessions is the latest example of platforms investing in live, community-driven music discovery. By connecting livestreams with ongoing promotion, the partnership gives DJs more opportunities to turn real-time engagement into long-term audience growth.

With live content continuing to play a bigger role in how fans discover new music, initiatives like SoundCloud Sessions could encourage more platforms to blur the lines between live performance, fan engagement and music discovery.
