Instagram just announced a host of new features coming to Messenger, including integrations with Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
Instagram stated at the start of the year how videos and messaging would be key areas of focus for 2022. Among Active Now, @Silent, Quick Send, Polls and Reply while you browse, Instagram are introducing Music Sharing to their direct messaging platform, helping users share and discover music right on the photo and video sharing app. The new feature lets you send 30-second music previews as DMs to your friends or in group chats. Recipients will be able to listen directly in the chat thread.
The new feature supports Apple Music, Amazon Music and soon Spotify. The feature is available in select countries now and expanding globally soon. We’re yet to see whether Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music will add dedicated “Share to Instagram Messenger” buttons, or whether the feature will just work from copying and pasting links.
