Six exciting new tools coming to YouTube Shorts
These six tools will make it easier than ever to create your very best Shorts with style and substance, to reach millions.
Exciting things are on the horizon for YouTube‘s fast-growing tab of short, vertical videos. YouTube Shorts have only been playing for 3 years but now average over 70 billion views.
For Creators, Shorts are a fantastic way to grab video browsers more quickly, expand their audience with snippets of longer-form content, and reach new viewers who prefer a different form of content.
Here are six fun new things coming to Shorts to expand your content’s potential.
Turn your long videos to Shorts with ease
One of the best ways to get the most out of your content and pull people into your longer videos is to make Shorts from them. YouTube are expanding last year’s tools that allowed creators to cut their long videos down into Shorts content with an even easier way to do it.
Auto layout is coming soon to Android. It automatically tracks your content to find the main subject of your video and focus on it. It will generate a vertical video that automatically pans, zooms, and crops to the highlights of your video so you can upload it as a Short with ease.
Find the perfect narrator for your content
YouTube are introducing Text to Speech to Shorts. The tool will allow creators to add transcriptions to their videos and choose a voice to narrate it. There are four voices to choose from.
Start a trend and join the community
New stickers will encourage creators to get involved with each other. The ‘Add yours’ sticker provides a simple click that viewers can use to create their own Short and add to the trend. YouTube promise it will spark “a chain reaction of adorable content.”
Remix-ception!
Creators love remixing other people’s content to put their own spin on it and expand the content. Now, creators can even remix the remixes to keep the inspiration flowing and the content fresh.
Give your captions a glow up
YouTube are adding a feature that allows you to add auto-generated captions to your content. You can then edit, customise, and style your captions with fonts and colours to make your Shorts pop.
Add to the world of Minecraft
New Minecraft effects help to put you inside the game. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Minecraft, YouTube are adding two new effects for creating Shorts.
Minecraft Spring takes you into the world of the game, while Minecraft Rush is a new mini game that you can play in the Shorts player.
Bonus for artists
