Roland V-Drums 7 Series: a must-have for pro drummers
Roland has launched the V-Drums 7 Series, its latest high-end electronic drum kit, consisting of TD-713, TD-716 and VAD716 models all powered by the new V71 module.
A significant upgrade to its renowned V-Drums series, this new line of electronic drum kits offers enhanced sound and better playability.
Roland V71 Module, at the heart of the V-Drums 7 Series
At the core of the 7 Series is the V71 module, introducing a selection of new features designed to elevate the playing experience for professional drummers.
This module boasts a new multi-sampled sound library created from the ground up in collaboration with Drum Workshop – a favourite manufacturer of acoustic drums.
The V71’s sound engine offers 32-bit/192kHz digital resolution with “round-robin” sample playback. As a result, no two hits sound identical and each mesh pad hit triggers a different articulation.
Furthermore, the V71 module offers three digital trigger inputs, balanced direct outputs and volume controls for each mesh head.
Roland has also integrated Wi-Fi connectivity for the first time, meaning you can download additional sounds, jam tracks and firmware updates directly from the Roland Cloud.
Each 7 Series kit comes with a six-month trial of Roland Cloud Ultimate membership. Consequently, you’ll have access to exclusive sound expansions like Drum Workshop’s Soundworks content.
New digital pads and improved hardware
Meanwhile, Roland has redesigned the pads for the 7 Series. The new pads enhance the realism and responsiveness of the drums while the new PD-14DSX digital snare offers improved sensing and includes a digital throw-off mechanism that simulates acoustic snare adjustments.
Additionally, you can control the tension of virtual snare wires and mimic the customization on acoustic kits.
Roland has upgraded the tom pads in the TD-716 and TD-713 with new die-cast hoops and a lower-profile design for more comfortable playing.
The VAD716, Roland’s flagship kit, features full-sized wooden shells and chrome hardware, providing an acoustic kit’s aesthetic while delivering all the benefits of digital technology.
Finally, the VAD716 is available in several high-end finishes too, including Pearl White, Gloss Cherry, and Satin Walnut.
