Native Instruments has introduced the Traktor X1 MK3, the latest iteration of their modular DJ controller series.

Designed with a focus on enhanced portability and powerful control, the Traktor X1 MK3 offers DJs a compact yet intuitive tool for manipulating their music with precision.

Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2

A successor to the Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2, the X1 MK3 continues the legacy of modular MIDI controllers by combining user-favoured features from its predecessors and introducing notable enhancements.

Central to the Traktor X1 MK3 are the five ultra-sharp OLED displays, providing essential information to DJs and removing the need to reference their laptops constantly. In practice, the displays present information like remaining track time, track names, loop sizes, and effect parameters.

Meanwhile, a standout feature of the Traktor X1 MK3 is its light-based notification system. By employing ambient lighting on the underside of the controller, this system offers you visual cues about various aspects of your DJ performance like track-ending alerts and loop status indicators.

Equally as practical is the host of hardware improvements the Traktor X1 MK3 boasts, designed to enhance functionality and performance. Refined controls such as larger knobs that feature clear centre indicators and improved tactility, as well as enlarged buttons that NI has softened offer a more comfortable and responsive DJ experience.

Versatility-wise, the Traktor X1 MK3 offers controls for EQ, cue, loop, and FX. Functioning seamlessly as a Traktor controller, the X1 can also transform into a generic MIDI controller that allows for integration with various software platforms. It’s also worth noting that the X1 MK3 is now driverless, enabling it to work as a MIDI controller with any compatible software without requiring specific drivers.

Another notable addition is on the rear of the device – a powered three-port USB hub. Now, the X1 streamlines connectivity and enables DJs to daisy-chain multiple X1 units easily, making it well-suited for setups that require multiple controllers.

Overall, the Traktor X1 MK3 represents a notable evolution of Native Instruments‘ modular DJ controller series. With its intuitive design, improved controls, advanced display system, and enhanced versatility, the X1 promises to be a valuable tool for DJs looking for a compact and powerful solution to elevate their performances.
