With their much loved ‘For You’ feed, follows are less prevalent on TikTok than other social media platforms, like Instagram. The ‘For You’ feed is driven by an algorithm that takes into account the amount of time you spend watching and engaging with certain types of content. That being said, the most followed TikTok accounts gives us an idea of what content is widely popular on the platform.
In June 2022, 24 year-old Senegalese-Italian influencer Khabane “Khaby” Lame over took Charli D’Amelio as the most followed creator on short-form video platform TikTok. Over three years later and Khaby still holds the title, with Charli D’Amelio at number two, but there’s been some movement among the rest of the top ten.
Since we last updated the list last year, there’s a new entry at number eight from Willie Salim with 84 million followers, which saw s ocial media personality Dominik Lipa drop out of the top ten. The TikTok account and Zach King continued to rise places. As a result, Bella Poarch, Addison Rae, Kimberly Loaiza and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson dropped in the ranking.
