More merchants can now get in on YouTube Shopping with Shopify
YouTube and Shopify are expanding their partnership, meaning more Shopify merchants can make their products available on YouTube Shopping.
In 2023, over 30 billion hours of shopping related videos were watched on YouTube, an increase of 25%! As they continue to ramp up their e-commerce efforts, YouTube has updated the Shopping affiliate program so more creators can easily tag more products.
The latest update means all eligible Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants in the US can sign up for YouTube Shopping’s affiliate program. Join the hundreds of US brand already using the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, enabling thousands of creators to tag and showcase your products, to their millions of viewers. All merchants need to do is install the Google & YouTube app on Shopify and follow the instructions.
Creators can tag products on upload. Tagged products will appear alongside the video, which allows creators to simply tag the link to be taken to product on the merchant’s site, ready to purchase. When purchases are made through the link, creators will receive a portion of the revenue. Thousands of brands are already available, such as BK Beauty, Popflex, HexClad, GoPure Beauty and more.
Merchants can see insights on Shopify, to see which products and whice pieces of content are driving sales.
This launch comes alongside a new YouTube Shopping Chrome extension. While browsing a merchant’s site, creators can save products to easily find them when they’re tagging on upload. Creators can even see how much they’d earn by tagging each product.
This comes as TikTok accelerate their partnership with Shopify. TikTok had onboarded 500,000 merchants in the US on TikTok Shop by the end of last year.
