Hitting 123 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the “Die With a Smile” singer has surpassed the previous record set by Ariana Grande.

Lady Gaga’s record-breaking moment

Lady Gaga has officially set a new benchmark on Spotify, breaking the record for the most monthly listeners by a female artist. On February 18, Lady Gaga cemented her place in streaming history, reaching 123,736,959 monthly listeners on Spotify. This milestone dethrones Ariana Grande, who previously held the record after surpassing Taylor Swift’s 116 million monthly listeners.

At the time of reporting, only two artists have more monthly listeners than Gaga on the platform. Bruno Mars holds the all-time record with over 150 million, followed by The Weeknd with 125 million. Billie Eilish, the next highest-ranking female artist and fourth highest overall, currently holds 107 million monthly listeners.

A resurgence fueled by new hits

Gaga’s recent surge in popularity comes off the back of her collaboration with Bruno Mars on “Die With a Smile.” The track made history as the fastest song to reach one billion streams on Spotify and spent five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.

Adding to the momentum, her latest solo release, “Abracadabra,” debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and claimed the No.1 Spot on the Billboard Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart.

More to come from Lady Gaga

With the release of her highly anticipated album Mayhem set for March 7, Gaga’s streaming numbers are expected to climb even higher. She announced the album’s tracklist on Instagram on February 18, sparking excitement among her fans. Given her recent success, it wouldn’t be surprising if Gaga continued to dominate streaming charts in the coming weeks and break more records in the process.
