Spotify just announced that since launching in 2020, there are now over 100,000 video podcasts on the audio network.

Spotify launched podcast on their platform back in 2019. One year later, Spotify released video podcasts to a select number of shows. 2021 saw a larger rollout, before the feature became available to creators in more markets in 2022 through Spotify for Podcasters.

At their Stream On event back in March earlier this year, Spotify announced there were 70,000 video podcasts on the platform. Spotify just upped this number to 100,000. This is of the 100 million tracks and 5 million podcast titles available on Spotify.

According to Spotify, the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, the U.K., and Germany publish the most video podcasts, while they have also seen great adoption among listeners in markets like the Philippines, where video podcasts account for over half of podcast consumption.

Video definitely helped our podcast. It has allowed us to connect deeper with our audience, which is so incredible. They can now pick up on our facial cues, see these little skits that we make, and really just have better engagement overall. But they can also continue to listen in the audio format if they choose to. It’s been versatile and we love it.
