Millions of songs on Spotify have never been heard before – Forgotify lets you be the first to discover them.

It might just be a hipster’s wet dream – a website that lets you discover music that no-one has ever listened to on Spotify. With the click of a button you can instantly discover new music and claim it’s first play, all thanks to Forgotify.

When you visit forgotify.com you’re presented with a button  – ‘Start Listening’. Click on it and Forgotify will root through the 30+ million tracks on Spotify and find a yet undiscovered track to give it a chance… with you. You’re presented the song on the website from which you can listen to a preview, go to Spotify and listen in full, share, or move on to another new track.

On the website you can also see what people have recently discovered and get in early on the action – even if you aren’t first you can be second, it’s the taking part that counts. They say on the website: “We love music. That’s why we were shocked to learn that millions of Spotify songs had been played only partially or never at all. A musical travesty, really. So we set out to give these neglected songs another way to reach your earholes, and Forgotify was born.”

With Forgotify there’s no criteria as to what track you’re given, it’s a completely random track that has never been heard (on Spotify). However there is probably a reason a lot of these tracks have never been listened to, but that’s half the fun and think of the comedic potential.
