Fender launches new music-making app ‘Fender Studio’
Fender has launched its own music-making app that lets musicians jam, record and create.
Legendary guitar business Fender has launched a free app designed to make jamming and recording guitar fast and easy. Fender Studio works with Android and Apple devices, and lets musicians play along to professionally recorded tracks and record jams with a host of tones and effects.
Fender Studio has been developed by the same crew that worked on the DAW Studio One Pro, which Fender acquired back in 2021.
The app is designed with ease of use and speed in mind. Users can begin recording with one quick tap of their phone, allowing them to capture ideas right when they strike without the hassle of a complicated set-up. There are multiple options to choose from within the app in terms of sounds.
Fender Studio also includes a built-in tuner and five virtual FX pedals for shaping your tone. Upon signing up with a free Fender Connect account, users gain access to an additional six amps and effects, including emulations of the popular Mustang and Rumble series, as well as classics like the ‘65 Twin Reverb and Rumble 800 v.3. Additionally, users can apply EQ, reverb, delay and compression, as well as play with effects like detuner, transformer and vocoder.
“I’ve always said to the team, anyone should be able to just hit a single button on their phone and be able to start recording,” says Fender CEO Andy Mooney. “We’ve built exactly that.”
The app also comes loaded with 20 professionally produced jam tracks across a range of genres, from mellow pop to heavy metal. Each track is fully editable and laid out as a multitrack session, giving users the ability to solo, mute, transpose or adjust the speed of individual parts. This makes it ideal for both casual jamming and more focused practice or production sessions.
Whether you’re playing around with a riff, or laying down the beginnings of a track, Fender Studio provides a seamless workflow for guitarists and creators on the move. All you need is a compatible audio interface – Fender recommends their new Link I/O for mobile users – and you’re ready to go.

Max Gutnik, Executive Vice President and GM of PreSonus and Fender’s other guitar brands shared, “Whether you are new to recording or a seasoned pro, Fender Studio delivers authentic Fender tones and intuitive editing capabilities to record, jam, create and inspire, for free. We are super-excited to release Fender Studio and hear all the amazing music it will help bring into the world!” As reported by Guitar.com.
With availability across iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and even Linux, Fender Studio is accessible to just about anyone, regardless of their setup. Fender has hinted at more features coming in the future, with a development roadmap already in place – though details are still under wraps.
