Discover the perfect music for children’s moods and moments with Spotify Kids’ new Content Explorer
Is there a perfect soundtrack for getting kids into the bath or the right song to study to? When you use Spotify there is and they’ll help you find it.
Spotify have just launched the Content Explorer for Spotify Kids, their home of all the musical greatness that has been hand selected as appropriate for kids but also to be loved by the little ones. The new feature helps parents and children alike find the perfect soundtrack to a moment.
The Content Explorer presents a wheel of emojis to choose from, and picking them will then take you on a stream of content based on the mood or moment that emoji represents. For example, there is a bath emoji for a soundtrack to get in the tub to and there’s a crying emoji for when you want something to drown out the child’s sobs with… ahem I mean, for music to help calm the child down.
For example: Hitting the bath emoji might throw up ‘Wash Your Hands with Baby Shark’ by Pinkfong. Choosing the dinner plate emoji might play ‘Panini’ by Lil Nas X. And so on.
For curious parents, you don’t even need to download the Spotify Kids app. You can access the Content Explorer on the web and preview the content they’ve arranged for the kids before getting the app.
The content is designed for kids aged 3 and up and is available exclusively to Spotify Premium Family members. The Spotify Kids app features over 300,000 kid-friendly songs and 1,300 playlists for children curated by Spotify’s curators. Spotify recently added shared playlists to Spotify Kids, allowing you to share playlists with your kids on the app.
