BPB Dirty LA is a free compressor effect by Bedroom Producers Blog.

More specifically, BPB Dirty LA is a vintage limiting amplifier VST plugin that is “inspired by [several] vintage limiting amplifiers”, and aims to deliver musical-sounding compression.

The addition of a BPB “Dirt” algorithm that can work in tandem with the compressor allows you to saturate our input signal too. BPB says, “Our Dirt algorithm was fine-tuned to deliver smooth saturation that boosts and warms up the signal while gently taming the transients”.

While BPB Dirty LA offers a relatively fast attack time anyway, its limiting mode provides faster attack times and a higher compression ratio.

Moreover, the plugin utilizes a Peak Reduction knob that allows you to control the threshold value. In turn, you can control the amount of compression you’re applying to your input.

Then you can use the Output knob to increase or attenuate the output level from the plugin.
