BBC Release Their Nominees for Song of the Year
The nominees for the BBC Music Awards Song of the Year include Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and The Weeknd.
The BBC have announced the nominees for Song of the Year, the only public-voted award in the BBC Music Awards. The 10 songs shortlisted for the award represent the most-played tracks on BBC radio and television networks featuring some of 2015’s biggest artists.
Here’s the BBC Music Awards Song of the Year Shortlist:
- Ed Sheeran – Bloodstream
- Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do
- Hozier – Take Me To Church
- Jason Derulo – Want To Want Me
- Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand
- Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ – Lean On
- Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
- OMI – Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)
- The Weeknd – Can’t Feel My Face
- Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth – See You Again
Voting for the award will be open to the public on the 9th December and votes must be cast between 7am and 8pm. You can either vote by SMS or online at www.bbc.co.uk/musicawards.
The Awards ceremony will be held in Birmingham on the 10th December when the results will be announced for Song of the Year and the other awards. The ceremony will feature performances from a variety of acts including Ellie Goulding, Faithless, Hozier, One Direction, Rod Stewart, Jack Garratt and more.
The ceremony will be broadcast at 8PM on BBC One, BBC Radio 2 and at bbc.co.uk/musicawards with “backstage action and activity from the event” broadcast on BBC Radio 1 from 4pm to 7pm.
