Apple Music listeners won’t need to worry about overlooking a new release from the artists they love anymore.

Apple Music have added notifications to their app so that users know whenever a new release comes out. ‘New Release Notifications’ will appear at the top of the Library tab in their mobile app and will show any new releases from artists that listeners already have saved in their library.

Apple have begun prompting users of Apple Music to turn the feature on. It can also be turned on any time from ‘Notifications’ within the settings and found by tapping your listener profile picture on the ‘For You’ screen.

Apple aren’t the first to introduce the feature and it seems that lots of services are trying to make their apps more interactive with ways to entice them in to listen more. Playlists have been a great way to introduce new music up until now, we’ll have to see if listeners take to notifications.
