Apple Music launches Discovery Station to take on Spotify’s Discover Weekly
Apple Music just launched their second personalized station. Discovery Station introduces listeners to an endless stream of new music.
Apple Music are improving their Stations for You efforts, by rebranding the existing [Your Name] Station and introducing a brand new Discovery Station. While [Your Name] Station plays a never-ending stream of music you love, Discovery Station is an endless stream of music you haven’t heard before, tailored to your listening preferences.
The feature looks to be live for all users on mobile, desktop and web apps. You can find both stations on the Listen Now tab, under Stations for You. Or find the new Discovery Station here.
This certainly isn’t the first music discovery feature we’ve seen on a music streaming service. Discover Weekly launched on Spotify way back in 2015. This is a 30-song playlist, updated weekly, of tunes Spotify thinks you’ll love, but haven’t heard yet.
