Rivian vehicle drivers can pump out the jams with all new Apple Music integration bringing streaming to all Rivian electric vehicles.

Starting today, Rivian owners can update their vehicle’s software to access Apple Music directly through the car’s dashboard. Users can enjoy uninterrupted streaming with a Rivian Connect+ subscription for integrated network access or connect via a hotspot within their cars.

A standout feature of this integration is the support for Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos on Rivian vehicles equipped with the Premium Audio sound system. This delivers an unparalleled listening experience, immersing drivers and passengers in a three-dimensional soundscape. Rivian describe it as an “incredible audio entertainment experience”.

Rivian Connect+ is priced at $14.99 a month or $149 a year. A two-month free trial is available. New Rivian owners will now also be able to access a 90-day free trial to Apple Music.

Whilst Rivian has previously confirmed its disinterest in adopting CarPlay, the company’s CEO, RJ Scaringe, has emphasised the importance of strong partnerships with tech giants like Apple, The integration of Apple Music into the Rivian ecosystem is a testament to this commitment.

Initial impressions of the Apple Music integration show a positive response. Users are praising the familiar user interface and seamless integration in the Rivian’s software. it seems that effort has been made to integrate Apple’s music streaming service seriously, rather than lazily porting an app into the car’s sytem.
