Amazon Music take us behind the curtain with some of the world’s biggest artists to explore songwriting in a brand new series.

What goes into making the hit songs that the world’s biggest artists produce? That’s what Amazon Music want to reveal, providing an insight into the creative process with some of the world’s favourite artists.

Amazon Music’s Songline series takes us behind the curtain with artists to examine the creative process by reimagining their songs. The episodes take a hit artist into a stripped down setting to discuss how they set about creating a song before breaking down some examples from their discography.

The first episode features Billie Eilish with her brother and musical partner FINNEAS. Together they dive inside the making of songs from their hit new album ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’. In the show, they rearrange four songs from the new album to build lush strings and choral elements to show how building a song can work.

As their songs are reimagined, Billie and FINNEAS describe the creative decisions they make when creating a song, their songwriting process, and how Biliie approaches singing in the studio. Eilish has been prolific with the release of her new album, teaming up with TikTok to debut their new Fan Spotlight feature.

Amazon Music’s Head of Publisher, Songwriter, and Society Relations, Tom Winkler said: “Songline offers an opportunity for artists, songwriters and their collaborators to showcase their songwriting process, detail their artistic journey, and reveal the stories behind songs typically hidden away in studios.”

He adds: “By placing songwriters and their craft at the forefront of culture, fans can learn how their favourite songs and records were made, driving deeper connection with their favourite artists.”

More episodes of Songline are promised in the coming months with some of the biggest names in the industry. They haven’t revealed the names of the artists and songwriters set to be featured. Hopefully, Amazon Music provide a spotlight to some of the smaller songwriters as well as the top artists.
