How to add artists to the ‘Show credits’ page on Spotify
With RouteNote, you can add or update the performer, writter and producer listed on Spotify and other streaming services.
Many music streaming services list the artists behind the scenes of a release. On Spotify, you can find the additional artists by clicking of tapping the three dots to the right of a track, then choosing Show credits. The Credits page shows who performed, wrote, produced and published the song. All of these details can be added or updated to your RouteNote release.

Performed by lists the primary and featuring artists. Written by lists the composer. Produced by lists the producer. The ‘Source: ‘ below these three headings lists the Record Label Name. RouteNote users will find all of four of these can be added or changed in the Album Details and Track Metadata of your release. Some distributors such as DistroKid require a higher subscription level to unlock customizable label names. With RouteNote all Free and Premium users can customize these for no additional fee. Be sure to add as many details as you can, so everyone is credited correctly across stores.

To update existing releases, head to your Discography page on RouteNote, click the three dots to the right of your release, click Update Release, then make the necessary changes and click Done. Your release will be sent to our update moderation team to be reviewed. Once it’s been approved, the update will soon start showing across stores.
When I add an artist in the credits metadata, it shows me list of Spotify artist profiles and ask me to choose or create a new one. In fact, songwriter or producer is usually using their actual name not the one who appear in the Spotify artist profile. In this case, do I can just create a new profile? Because songwriter page in Spotify is not the same as artist profile and only those big songwriters can have the songwriter page
Hey,
If the artist/songwriter you are crediting does not already have a Spotify Artist Page please click ‘None of these artists’ on the drop-down menu.

This was recently changed, and the composer/lyricist fields are now in a separate section called “publishing information” or something like that. That, however, won’t transfer over to spotify (haven’t checked other platforms yet). Is there any way to revert to the old methods? My PRO money came in the other day and I realized it was way lower than it should’ve been, and I’m 100% certain the “publishing information” update caused this. Please fix
Hey,
Thanks for reaching out!
The publishing details section of your release requires you to enter the first and last name of any composers and lyricists involved in the release.
We ask for your first and last name as these are the identifiers (as well as track/album names) that are used in order to pay publishing earnings to songwriters.
It is crucial that you enter this information in order to make sure publishing royalties flow to the correct rightsholder.
If you do not enter the accurate first and last name, then our partner stores, MROs and PROs are less likely able to identify you when it comes to paying out these royalties, and can lead to missed income for yourself and the rightsholders of your compositions.

hmm what I’d like to know is how to list my band name only rather than my legal name in the composer/lyricists fields as I’d like to retain some level of PRIVACY is that possible somehow?
