You can get your hands on a Gem Mod plug-in license as long as you apply before September 27th.

Software developer Overloud is giving away 1,000 licenses to its Roland Dimension D emulation, Gem Mod, every day until 27th September.

Overload says that the Gem Mod is a “hyper-realistic simulation” of the original Dimension D chorus effect used extensively on vocals in the ’80s and ’90s. Artists such as Brian Eno, Kate Bush, and Talking Heads were avid users.

Gem Mod has extensive capabilities of Roland’s chorus unit with features such as an input envelope
that dynamically controls all main parameters. There are also custom LFO shapes for nuanced modulation behavior and modulation rates that you can sync to your DAW’s BPM.

Overloud’s rendition of the Dimension D also features input saturation with the harmonic generation, control over speed, shape, depth, and amount. There are also 10 presets that come pre-installed to get you started with a new chorus patch, along with A/B comparisons.

Gem Mod is usually priced at $99 and is available in VST, AU, and AAX formats for MacOS and Windows.

To claim your license for Gem Mod, you’ll need to create an account with Overloud or log into your existing one. Then, simply click ‘Download For Free’ on the product page and head to your inbox to receive your download link and activation code. Be quick though as there are only 1,000 being given away a day.
