Record-breaking first-day streams show a huge amount of anticipation for an album by devoted fans. Here are the top 10 as of April 2024.

Taylor Swift has just overtaken herself with the most-streamed album in a single day, following the release of her eleventh studio album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Not only did this album exceed the previous record, but with over 310 million streams, it almost doubled the first-day streams of her previous album Midnights released in October 2022. This latest record gives Taylor Swift all of the top three spots, as well as four albums on the top ten list.

Prior to the release of THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, the most streamed album in 2024 was Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER at 76.1 million first day streams.
