Spotify are testing Premium accounts for 2 people
Forget your family, some people just want to save money streaming their favourite tunes without having to get your relatives involved.
Spotify are testing a new discount subscription for multiple users, but just 2 at a time. Their Premium Duo accounts let two people listen to Spotify Premium unlimited and ad-free streaming from the same subscription for just $14 / €12.49.
It’s not as good a deal as their Family plan which offers up to 6 different people to listen on the same account for just $14.99 / €12.99. The difference with the Duo subscription is that you don’t need to be related or live at the same address to sign up for it.
The new partner plan also comes with it’s own custom playlist made up of the two listeners’ listening habits and music taste: Duo Mix. Premium Duo is currently being tested in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland, and Poland. An international rollout is likely if testing goes well.
