Users of YouTube Music will now see their Now Playing queue sync across Android, iOS, and web devices.

YouTube Music has rolled out a simple but useful upgrade. According to 9to5Google, YouTube Music users can now sync their music queue across signed-in devices, no matter whether they’re moving between Android, iOS, or the web.

Pick up right where you left off

Ever queued up a few tracks, switched devices, and your carefully curated queue is gone? With this new feature, that problem is gone. YouTube Music’s Now Playing queue follows the user, with your latest play session overriding older queues on other devices. That means whatever you were listening to last becomes the active queue.

Now when you open the app on a different device, the last song you were listening to appears in the mini player. You’ll also see a “From your iPhone” or “From your browser” shown in place of the artist information when you open the track on mobile, making it clear where the queue carried over from.

A handy upgrade

Queue syncing isn’t entirely new for YouTube Music, but it used to be more limited. Previously, the web experience could resume sessions started on mobile. Now, you can also pick up where you left off between iOS and Android mobile devices too.

Of course, this isn’t a groundbreaking feature. But for listeners who regularly bounce between their phone, laptop, and tablet, this is the kind of quality-of-life feature that quietly improves the whole experience.

While most listeners will see this as a win, some users on Reddit have noted they’d like the option to turn syncing off. Particularly, when they prefer having different queues for different devices. Still, for the average user, it’s a clean, practical upgrade that lets users seamlessly listen to YouTube Music across their devices.
