Apple Music is getting a huge update and even more features have been announced than the exciting news earlier in the month.

Who doesn’t love a fresh new look – ‘New Year, New Me’ am I right? Well, it may be as far from the new year as we can get, but Apple Music is getting a big update in iOS 26 that brings the sleek new ‘Liquid Glass’ look alongside brand new features.

Following on from an announcement earlier in the month, Apple Music have confirmed more features coming to Apple Music. These features are poised to enhance music discovery, listening, and user management of their music libraries.

AutoMix is an AI-powered tool that will blend two songs together. It is supposed to act like an automatic DJ, blending songs as they change over. It will work to do more than simply crossfade, finding suited transition points.

A new pinning feature allows users to pin their favourite songs, albums, or playlists to the top of their library. This will help listeners easily access their most listened to music as soon as they load up the app.

A new pinned widget will also make jumping into listener’s favourite music with ease. The widget can be pinned to the home screen, allowing listeners to jump straight in with a single tap.

Folders for playlists will allow for easy organistation of users’ music libraries. The playlists can be grouped by mood, genres, occasions, or anything the user likes to allow for easy browsing.

At the start of June, we heard about Apple’s new ‘Liquid Glass’ interface design, taken from visionOS and coming to iOS devices with iOS 26. The announcement revealed lyrics features that will help non-native speakers understand foreign songs better.

Lyrics Translation will translate the lyrics into the user’s language. Lyrics Pronunciation goes a step further, showing how the lyrics should be pronounced.

Apple iOS 26 is being released in beta versions at the moment. The full OS launch should come later this year.
