Here at RouteNote we are now starting to add iTunes Artist Ping pages.
As you may have heard, Apple just launched a new service called Ping. A social network for music where iTunes music fans can follow their favorite artists and friends to discover music they’re talking about, listening to and downloading.
Ping has “People” accounts and “Artist” accounts. Artist accounts allow musicians to upload and create their own pages featuring their pictures, videos, tour-dates, music recommendations and a lot more.
If you would like to request a Ping artist page, please get in contact.
The only requirement is that you are a RouteNote artist and that you have at least one of your releases on iTunes.

RouteNote is very proud to announce that one of our artists, Lee Crossley, has just reached the number #2 slot in the Amazon Rock charts. This is an amazing effort from Lee, who has been working very hard gigging for the last 18 months. Im really glad it has finally paid off!
You can check out his track on Amazon here.

We thought that all RouteNote artists might be interested in a new free service from Amazon, called Artist Central.
Artist Central allows artists to add their own content to Amazon.com Artist Stores. This helps music fans on amazon.com discover artists and their work more easily, and leads to greater sales.
Users can upload photos, a bio, videos, and audio for promotional streaming, as well as utilize new features like a Twitter widget and customizable banners to create a robust, customized Artist Store on Amazon.com, ultimately helping customers discover artists and their work more easily. Check out the artist store for Band of Horses (www.amazon.com/bandofhorses) to see these features in action.
Artist Central is completely free to anyone selling their music on Amazon.com. Getting started is easy and only takes a few minutes. Just go to Artist Central (http://artistcentral.amazon.com) and sign in with your Amazon account to claim your artist. (If there is currently no artist store for your artist, you can click “Create a new Artist Store”.) Claims are usually approved within 1-2 days.
Once you have been approved, you can then add your photos, video, banners and more. Please review the Artist Page Banner Creation Tips and Guidelines when creating a banner for your artist store. The Guidelines can be downloaded from the banner upload tool on the Artist Central site.
Here at the RouteNote blog we are always looking for new and upcoming artists. If you wanna get some free promotion and a review on RouteNote, then please get in touch! Either news at RouteNote.com or @routenote on Twitter.

RouteNote is a leading digital music distribution service providing artists instant access to the worlds largest online music stores and streaming services. Designed and built to take advantage of the shift towards independent and self-publication through online and mobile music outlets, and the consumer switch to online purchasing as outlined by the success of iTunes, Amazon and Spotify, RouteNote is partnered with some of the biggest retailers on the web to give artists massive and immediate availability for their tracks.
Onsite, artists can upload tracks to the RouteNote catalogue and enter into a non exclusive agreement permitting us to distribute their music to a worldwide audience in a matter of moments. They then select partnered retail outlets that they wish their music to be available through and within moments their songs will begin earning money as part of a world wide, web wide, distribution network.
p.s. The Desktop upload tool is currently in the process of being upgraded, so you will not be able to upload via that until the new version is available. Additionally, we still have a few small browser compatibility issues, all are just looks and will be fixed very soon.

About 3 years ago getting your music picked up by a digital music distribution company was pretty much impossible unless you were signed by a major record label. We’ve been working to change that. If you’re new to our site, or you’ve never heard of us before, then we’re here to help you finally reach your goal of selling your music professionally on the worlds largest music stores.
We at RouteNote are always trying to help as many artists as we can.
