Copyright claims on videos won’t necessarily mean that video is doomed to silence anymore with YouTube’s upgraded eraser tool.
YouTube’s update will allow more content to shine with their new eraser tool. This innovative feature empowers creators to remove copyrighted music from their videos with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring a smooth and copyright-free viewing experience for your audience.
When YouTube detects copyrighted music in content that isn’t covered by Content ID, they often mute the video for the duration of the copyrighted material. This not only interrupts the flow of videos but can lead to vital information being cut with the music. Sometimes, it even means whole videos are muted.
For songs that do use Content ID, creators are able to keep the music in their content as intended. It does, however, mean that ad revenue generated on their video will go to the rightsholder(s) of the music rather than them as the content creator.
YouTuber’s AI-powered eraser tool aims to prevent that from ever being the case again. The tool can detect and eliminate copyrighted songs from videos whilst maintaining the other audio on top of it.
Previously, the eraser tool wasn’t adept at isolating and removing music. This new, AI-driven version streamlines your editing workflow by precisely targeting the copyrighted material. You can now focus on creating fantastic content without worrying about copyright claims interrupting your creative flow.
While incredibly powerful, YouTube acknowledges that in some instances, the AI might not achieve perfect separation. Their support page offers alternative solutions, such as muting specific sections or trimming out the copyrighted segment entirely.
Once you’ve successfully edited your video using the eraser tool or another method, YouTube takes care of the rest. They’ll remove your Content ID claim, allowing your video to shine without copyright restrictions.
How to use Content ID for music on YouTube
Content ID is YouTube’s automatic detection system for music on YouTube videos. When YouTube detects copyrighted audio in content, they can then mark that video so that the artist’s content is tagged and the revenues go back to them.
This is a win-win solution, allowing creators to use music how they wish whilst ensuring artists get credited and paid.
Artists can upload their music to Content ID for free with RouteNote. This ensures that any time their music is used anywhere on YouTube they earn revenue from it.
