With their much loved ‘For You’ feed, follows are less prevalent on TikTok than other social media platforms, like Instagram. The ‘For You’ feed is driven by an algorithm that takes into account the amount of time you spend watching and engaging with certain types of content. That being said, the most followed TikTok accounts gives us an idea of what content is widely popular on the platform.
In June 2022, 24 year-old Senegalese-Italian influencer Khabane “Khaby” Lame over took Charli D’Amelio as the most followed creator on short-form video platform TikTok. Over four years later and Khaby still holds the title, with Charli D’Amelio at number two, but there’s been some movement among the rest of the top ten.
Since we last updated the list earlier this year, there’s a new entry at number ten from “FIFA World Cup” with over 83 million followers, pushing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson off the top ten. At the time of writing, the 2026 World Cup final is just around the corner, so we’ll have to wait and see whether this growth is short lived.
