Twitter are gradually turning everything Twitter and bird-related on the social networking site to the letter X.

Twitter has changed the bird logo in the top left corner of the site to an interim user-submitted “X” logo, along with many official Twitter profiles, which have changed their names and display pictures to the minimalistic white “X” on a plain black background. x.com now also redirects to twitter.com. The announcement was made recently by owner and CTO Elon Musk, who Tweeted (or Xed?) many, many times about the update.

Elon has long been a fan of the letter. X.com was the name of an online banking company co-founded by Elon Musk, which would later become PayPal, not to mention Elon’s space company SpaceX, Tesla’s SUV Model X, as well as Elon’s new artificial intelligence company X.Ai. Elon bought back the X.com domain from PayPal in 2017.
