Most streamed songs on TikTok

Mae Stephens, a rising star hailing from the UK, claimed the global #1 spot with her infectious track ‘If We Ever Broke Up.’, another example of how the platform can catapult emerging artists to stardom. Mae Stephens expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am truly honoured to have the global number one spot for TikTok’s Song of the Summer!”

Furthermore, Doechii’s ‘What It Is – Solo Version’ and Thuy’s ‘girls like me don’t cry (sped up)’ also made waves around the world, securing spots in the top three.

TikTok’s summer charts reflect a diverse range of musical styles. Jain, a French artist, saw her upbeat track ‘Makeba’ become the #1 Song of the Summer in the United States. The song, originally inspired by “Mama Africa” Miriam Makeba, experienced a resurgence on TikTok, inspiring over 5 million video creations.

Meanwhile, energetic hip-hop tracks made a statement this summer. Philadelphia’s “hipdance” trio Philly Goats, with singles like ‘Get Off The Wall’ and ‘Buckle Up,’ introduced a new style of high-energy club music that resonated with TikTok users, resulting in over 3.4 million video creations.
