TikTok has officially expanded its Subscription feature, providing more creators with opportunities to monetize their content.

Initially launched as “LIVE Subscription” for creators who broadcast live, TikTok’s updated offering is now available to non-LIVE creators in select regions, including the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Brazil, and others.

TikTok has promised plans to roll out the feature to additional markets in the coming weeks.

TikTok subscriptions for creators and audiences

The expanded Subscription feature allows creators to offer exclusive perks and premium content to their most loyal followers in exchange for a monthly fee.

This move aligns TikTok with other social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, which already offer similar subscription-based models to boost creator revenue.

The Subscription feature is designed to enhance the relationship between creators and their followers by providing a unique, members-only experience.

What are TikTok’s subscription tiers?

Creators can choose from three different subscription tiers, each offering various benefits.

Such benefits include private communication channels, exclusive content and personalized perks designed to fit the creator’s style and the needs of their audience.

Furthermore, subscribers get a range of exclusive offerings such as special videos, LIVEs and notes which are visible only to paying members.

They can also use unique stickers during LIVE sessions and display badges next to their names in comments, which serve as markers of community identity and loyalty.

TikTok also allows creators to introduce custom perks, such as shout-outs, behind-the-scenes content, or even the ability to interact with them in exclusive spaces like “Sub Space,” a channel for direct communication between creators and subscribers.

For creators, the expanded Subscription tool offers a powerful way to generate consistent revenue while deepening engagement with their followers.

It builds on the close-knit communities that many creators have fostered on the platform. With these new features, creators can further strengthen their connections with audiences and offer followers an incentive to invest more in their favourite creators.

Are all TikTok creators eligible for subscriptions?

Unfortunately, TikTok’s expanded subscription features aren’t open to all creators on the platform.

Eligible creators must meet certain criteria such as being at least 18 years old, having a minimum of 10,000 followers and reaching 100,000 video views in the past 30 days.

Moreover, TikTok asks for additional requirements to participate in the subscription model for those already hosting LIVE streams.

Nevertheless, TikTok has provided eligible creators with more opportunities to turn their passion into a sustainable content business as the platform serves as a growing platform for digital entrepreneurship.
