TikTok unveils AI tools and creator rewards at US Creator Summit
TikTok has launched new tools and features to streamline content creation and help creators earn more from their work.
TikTok has unveiled a series of new features designed to help creators work smarter, not harder. Announced at the TikTok US Creator Summit, the updates include two AI-powered tools – AI Outline and Smart Split – plus a fresh update to the platform’s subscription-based revenue model that could see creators earning up to 90% of profits.
Smart Split

In content creation, cross-posting and repurposing content is a key part of a well-considered content strategy. But, different platforms have different requirements and formats, which can make editing a headache. For creators who spend hours trimming and reformatting videos, TikTok’s new Smart Split feature offers a game-changing shortcut. Available globally through TikTok Studio Web, Smart Split uses AI to automatically transform long videos into multiple short clips.
“Smart Split automatically clips, reframes, captions, and transcribes longer content into multiple short videos ready for TikTok,” the company said. This means a single vlog, interview, or podcast can now be broken down into bite-sized, shareable videos in seconds.
Creators can upload videos longer than one minute, choose which sections they want to keep, and let Smart Split do the rest. The feature can automatically choose an ideal video length or allow users to select one themselves. TikTok has also added options for caption styles and reframing tools so that each clip fits the vertical format perfectly.
Once the edits are complete, creators can publish their clips straight from TikTok Studio Web, cutting out the need for third-party editing software.
AI Outline

AI Outline is designed to help creators plan their content more efficiently. By entering a simple prompt such as “Baking lessons for beginners”, TikTok’s AI will automatically generate “video titles, hashtags, hooks and outlines,” giving users a clear idea of how to structure their content before filming.
According to TikTok, “AI Outline generates an outline that will break down the video into six parts that creators can customise. For instance, creators can lengthen or shorten the title, refine the hook, and the general script idea to make the video in their style.”
This feature aims to give creators a head start in the brainstorming process, especially for those struggling to find the right structure or angle for their videos. Once the outline is ready, users can film and upload directly to TikTok.
Starting this week, AI Outline is available to creators aged 18 and over in the US, Canada, and select markets, with plans for wider availability in the coming weeks. TikTok also emphasised that every AI-generated suggestion – from hashtags to scripts – goes through safety checks to ensure it aligns with the platform’s Community Guidelines.
Monthly subscription rewards
To round off the announcements, TikTok introduced a major update to its Subscription product, allowing creators to “earn up to 90% of profit payouts.”
“Subscription allows TikTok creators to build stronger, more engaged communities while monetising through a monthly subscription fee for access to exclusive perks,” the company explained. After fees, creators will now receive 70% of TikTok’s revenue share. Those who meet additional requirements – including 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past month, and at least three subscription-only videos – can unlock an extra 20% monthly reward, taking the revenue share to 90%.
This new model provides a clearer incentive for creators to build exclusive content and maintain regular engagement with their audience, while also earning more for their work.
TikTok says these updates reflect its ongoing mission to “empower human creativity with AI-powered tools that make it easier to create, discover and connect around original content.”
With AI now supporting both the creative and editing process, the platform is giving creators more time to focus on what truly matters – making engaging, original work that connects with their audience. By combining innovation with improved earning opportunities, TikTok continues to shape how digital creativity evolves and how creators bring their ideas to life.
