This year, TikTok helped to break out newcomers such as Alex Warren, Ravyn Lenae, sombr, and Lola Young. The platform isn’t just known for breaking new artists, as TikTok also helps to resurface older tracks. For example, 2025 saw the likes of Breakin’ Dishes by Rihanna, Let Down by Radiohead, and Rock That Body by the Black Eyed Peas back into the spotlight on TikTok.

TikTok’s Global Artist of the Year 2025: KATSEYE
TikTok crowned KATSEYE as its Global Artist of the year for 2025. Popular with fans around the world, the Los Angeles girl group had multiple viral moments on TikTok this year through tracks like Gnarly and Gabriela. In total, the group racked up over 30 billion views and 12 million creations using their music in 2025.
Other names in the top ten include household names like Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande.

TikTok’s Top Global Song of 2025: ‘Pretty Little Baby’ by Connie Francis
TikTok’s top global song this year was ‘Pretty Little Baby’ by the late Connie Francis, first released more than six decades ago (in 1962). Thanks to TikTok, the song exploded and was used in over 28.4 million videos, totalling over 68.6 billion views.
Despite huge success in the 1950s and 1960s with other hit songs, the renewed attention pushed ‘Pretty Little Baby’ to become Connie Francis’ most-streamed track on Spotify with over 130 million streams.

TikTok’s Most-Saved Music of 2025 via ‘Add to Music App’
Music discovery is made easy on TikTok thanks to the ‘Add to Music App’ feature which lets users save songs they discover on TikTok directly to their preferred streaming service. Now, TikTok has revealed that the feature has generated over 3 billion track saves, turning viral moments into real streams and chart placements worldwide.
TikTok’s Most-Saved Artist Globally in 2025: Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift claimed the top spot as the most-saved artist on TikTok in 2025. The release of her record-breaking album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ led to millions of pre-saves and loads more saves upon release.
TikTok’s Most-Saved Track Globally in 2025: ‘back to friends’ by sombr
The most-saved song of the year was sombr’s ‘back to friends’. After blowing up early in the year, the song has been used in over 7.7 million videos with more than 21.7 billion combined views. The track has since crossed 1.1 billion streams on Spotify.
TikTok’s Most-Saved Album Globally in 2025: ‘So Close To What’ by Tate McRae
The most-saved album on TikTok in 2025 was Tate McRae’s ‘So Close To What’. With over 13.5 million TikTok followers, Tate McRae has a huge presence on the platform. That presence continues to translate into direct streams, and undoubtedly plays a hand in her 54 million monthly Spotify listeners.
TikTok’s Music Trend of 2025: ‘Anxiety’ by Doechii
If you opened TikTok at any point this year, you probably encountered Doechii’s ‘Anxiety’. After fans discovered the demo of the track, originally uploaded in 2019, Doechii re-recorded and released it in March 2025.
The track sparked a huge global dance trend, and generated 10.4 million video creations and 51.6 billion views. Again, the track’s TikTok success has translated into chart success as it reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Doechii five Grammy nominations.
TikTok’s Songwriter of 2025: EJAE
New York-based EJAE is TikTok’s songwriter of the year. She had a breakout year shaped by her work in the popular KPop Demon Hunters. Serving as the singing voice for Rumi and co-writing much of the show’s soundtrack, she contributed to one of the biggest soundtracks of the year.
She co-wrote the record-breaking single ‘Golden’ which has sparked 9.8 million creations and 23.6 billion views on TikTok.
