The Sims is the latest video game to host a music event which will feature performances from Glass Animals, Bebe Rexha, and Jay Oladukun.
The virtual concert trend is showing no signs of slowing down as The Sims becomes the latest video game to announce a virtual concert. However, the “Sims Sessions’ will have some songs sang in its in-game language Simlish.
EA has described the “Sims Sessions” as an in-game music festival that will take place inside The Sims 4 from June 29th to July 7th. It will be headlined by pop star Bebe Rexha, who will sing her single ‘Sabotage’ in Simlish. Glass Animals and Jay Oladukun will serve as the openers but are to sing in plain old English.
In addition to being able to listen to the music, players will be able to explore the festival space, create new outfits, and buy “exclusive digital merchandise” from all the performers, almost like the real festival experience.
There will also be a Simlish Karaoke session which will see Rexha partner with popular TikTok users. Rexha joins an ever-growing list of artists that have recorded their music in the Simlish language, including Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Japanese Breakfast.
In the last year, virtual performances have been growing in popularity, and more artists are getting the digital treatment. Post Malone sang among Pokemon for Pokemon’s 25th-anniversary show, Royal Blood played an exclusive set in Roblox, and Travis Scott took over Fortnite Island.
