Love is in the air, thanks to Spotify sharing which songs with lyrics centring around love are the most shared by its users.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Spotify has shared new data revealing how listeners around the world are engaging with song lyrics. According to Billboard, the streaming platform has highlighted which love-themed lyrics are being shared the most, alongside a wider look at which songs fans are actively reading inside the app. The findings show that lyrics remain a powerful way for people to connect with music, especially when emotions are high.

Based on Spotify’s global data, Conan Gray’s “Heather” sits at the top of the list for the most shared romantic lyrics. The song has become a modern emotional favourite, with fans regularly sharing its lines across social platforms. It is followed by The Walters’ “I Love You So,” Coldplay’s “Yellow,” Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” and another Coldplay track, “Sparks.”

Spotify also revealed which lyrics were most viewed worldwide, meaning listeners opened the lyrics section while listening. Unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift leads this list with her 2025 Hot 100 number one, “The Fate of Ophelia.” Other highly viewed tracks include “End of Beginning” by Djo, “Golden” by HUNTR/X, “La Perla” by Rosalía and Yahritza Y Su Esencia, and “Die on This Hill” by Sienna Spiro.

Beyond chart hits, Spotify noted that listeners are also reading lyrics from viral songs and long-standing classics. Raye’s “Where Is My Husband” ranked highly, alongside tracks such as She & Him’s “I Thought I Saw Your Face Today,” Radiohead’s “Creep,” sombr’s “Back to Friends,” KATSEYE’s “Gabriela,” and Olivia Dean’s “Lover, You Should Come Over.”

Earlier this week, Spotify also revealed three major updates and additions to lyrics. These include adding offline lyrics, enabling lyric previews, and expanding its lyric translations. It’s clear that Spotify is turning more attention to lyrics, and bringing it firmly in as part of the music-enjoying experience. This creates more opportunities for fans and artists to connect in a more meaningful way, all within the Spotify ecosystem.
