Sonos are about to unveil a brand new product which may be their biggest yet, the one we’ve all been waiting for.

Sonos have teased a new product reveal coming tomorrow, May 21st. We don’t know what it is, but we do know that it’s going to be Sonos’s “most requested product ever”.

If you’ve been firing messages at Sonos for a new product then you may have an inkling as to what Sonos have up their sleeve. For the rest of us, it appears to be the Sonos Ace, the company’s first ever wireless headphones. The headphones were expected to launch in June but leaks suggest they’re coming earlier.

The Sonos Ace headphones reportedly hold 40mm drivers and 8 microphones for active noise cancellation. They support spatial audio, lossless Hi-Fi music, and use head tracking technology. A full charge takes 3 hours and will last 30 hours of use. Leaks suggest it will cost €499.

So, why might Sonos be releasing this new model sooner than expected? It might be part of the damage control for the disastrous launch of their new app. They updated their app with a new visual design – which has been celebrated – but removed key features and according to users has stopped working with their devices.

Benjamin Purkiss writes on X: “Dear @Sonos while your new app update LOOKS pretty, it doesn’t fucking work. Did you even try testing it before forcing all your users to install the newest update? Your app was finally working perfectly fine. Now speakers don’t connect, volume doesn’t work.. Do better.”

One user jokingly writes that the countdown on Sonos’s website might be for a re-release of the old version of the app.

Another potential product drop is the Sonos Roam 2. This is the updated model of their portable speaker. Leaks suggest the Roam 2 will feature two digital amplifiers, two Class H digital amplifiers, one tweeter, and one midwoofer. It’s suggested to have dust and IP67 water resistance, last 10 hours on a full charge, and to cost €199. The Roam 2 is rumoured for release in June and is less likely to fit the criteria of Sonos’s “most requested product ever”.
