Sonos and IKEA are saying goodbye to Symfonisk products, like bookshelf and picture frame speakers.

After nearly a decade of working together, Sonos and IKEA are officially ending their collaboration on the Symfonisk range of speakers. The two companies confirmed that there are no new products planned, and existing stock is being phased out across all IKEA stores globally.

The Symfonisk range blended sound and design in unique ways, offering products like bookshelf speakers, lamp speakers, and even picture frame speakers. These speakers were known for being more affordable than Sonos’ main product line, while still offering full compatibility with Sonos’ home audio ecosystem.

“Over the past eight years, we’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Ikea and are proud of what we’ve achieved,” said Sonos spokesperson Erin Pategas in an email to The Verge. “Although our work together has largely wound down and we won’t be releasing new products as partners, we’ll continue to support every existing Symfonisk product so customers can keep enjoying great sound in their homes for many years to come.”

If you’re thinking about grabbing a Symfonisk product, now might be the last chance before they disappear from shelves. They’ve been a popular choice for customers looking to build a home theatre system that blends in with the furniture, or for those wanting a budget-friendly way into the Sonos ecosystem.

This announcement comes at a time of change for Sonos. The company is due to report its latest quarterly earnings soon, and analysts are watching closely to see how recent US tariffs could affect its performance. Sonos has already dropped the prices of two products – the Era 100 speaker and Ray soundbar – in an attempt to boost demand.

Meanwhile, Sonos is also focusing on improving its mobile app after a major update last May received criticism for bugs and performance issues. Interim CEO Tom Conrad said that “polishing the core user experience remains the company’s top priority.”

Earlier this year, Sonos also cancelled a video product that had been in development for years, showing a renewed focus on refining their audio technology – the heart of their brand.
