Skullcandy’s latest premium headphones pair its famous Crusher Bass with Bose-powered sound, active noise cancellation, and up to 60 hours of battery life.

Skullcandy has unveiled its latest flagship headphones, the Crusher 1080 ANC, aiming to bring together two qualities that haven’t always gone hand in hand: powerful bass and premium audio quality.

The new headphones combine its patented adjustable Crusher Bass technology with a suite of Bose audio technologies, including active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and voice-enhancing call features. The result is the company’s most advanced over-ear headphones to date, designed for listeners who want immersive low-end without sacrificing clarity.

Skullcandy’s signature bass gets a premium upgrade

The Crusher range has long stood out for one defining feature: bass that you don’t just hear, you feel.

Rather than simply boosting low frequencies through EQ, Skullcandy’s patented Crusher technology uses dedicated bass drivers to create a physical sensation alongside the audio. The intensity is fully adjustable using a wheel on the earcup or through the Skullcandy app, allowing listeners to dial the effect up or down depending on what they’re listening to.

For bass-heavy genres like hip hop, EDM, trap and drum & bass, that extra physical impact could make casual listening feel closer to standing in front of a festival sound system. Equally, turning the effect down offers a more balanced presentation when editing audio, watching videos or listening to podcasts.

Instead of replacing traditional sound quality, Skullcandy says the goal with Crusher 1080 ANC is to complement it.

Powered by Sound by Bose

One of the biggest additions to the Crusher lineup is the inclusion of Sound by Bose technologies. Bose’s audio processing powers several key parts of the listening experience, including QuietControl Active Noise Cancellation, WaveForm Audio, TrueSpatial audio, and SpeechClarity for phone calls.

In practical terms, that means users should benefit from:

  • Active noise cancellation to reduce distractions while travelling or working
  • Richer, more balanced sound across different genres
  • A wider, more speaker-like listening experience through Bose TrueSpatial
  • Clearer voice pickup during calls in noisy environments

Built for everyday use

Beyond the audio itself, Skullcandy has packed in plenty of convenience features that make the headphones well suited to everyday use.

Battery life reaches up to 60 hours with ANC turned off, or up to 50 hours with noise cancellation enabled. When time is short, Rapid Charge provides around four hours of playback from just a 10-minute charge.

The headphones also support:

  • Bluetooth 5.3
  • Multipoint pairing for connecting to two devices simultaneously
  • Google Fast Pair
  • Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast support
  • Low Latency Audio
  • Automatic wear detection
  • Flat-folding design for easier travel

For musicians and everyday users jumping between a laptop, phone and tablet throughout the day, multipoint connectivity can save constantly reconnecting devices, while low latency is useful when watching videos or creating content where audio sync matters.

Personalise the listening experience

The Skullcandy app offers a wide range of customisation options beyond simply adjusting the Crusher Bass. Users can choose between preset EQ profiles for music, movies and podcasts, or create their own sound using a five-band EQ. Bose-powered audio modes, button remapping and Personal Sound tuning are also available, allowing users to tailor the headphones to their own listening preferences.

Rather than locking listeners into a single sound signature, the Crusher 1080 ANC aims to adapt whether you’re relaxing with playlists, commuting, gaming or catching up on podcasts.
