RouteNote artists roseboy & DSCO re-release “DANCE” with a disco remix
Newcomer DSCO brings a fresh disco twist to roseboy’s track DANCE — a groovy, nostalgic remix you’ll want on repeat.
The indie track “DANCE” from roseboy is getting a revival in 2025, thanks to a brand-new remix by DSCO, a debut project bringing a modern twist to classic disco. Titled “DANCE (DSCO Remix)”, the release blends groove and contemporary production to reintroduce the track in a new light.
Originally released in 2022, roseboy’s DANCE found a strong audience, landing editorial placements across major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, FLO, Melon, and more. It was a solid moment for an independent artist, and now, three years later, the track is getting reworked by a fresh voice in the scene.
DSCO, launching in 2025, comes from an electronic music background but has a clear love for the golden era of disco. His remix doesn’t aim to replicate the past, instead, it draws from it while keeping one foot firmly in the present. “I think there’s a lot of nostalgia in the disco genre,” DSCO says. “I grew up listening to stuff like Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Donna Summer. But with my background in electronic production, I felt like I could bring something new to it, something that still gets people moving but feels current.”
His take on DANCE strips things back slightly and leans into groove and rhythm. The bassline is bouncy and warm, the synth melodies float through with that unmistakable retro shimmer, and the vocal sits comfortably in the mix, repeating its mantra: “I’m just tryna dance.”
There’s something satisfying about hearing a song you’re already familiar with take on a new shape. This remix doesn’t try to outshine the original, instead, it adds a different energy. It’s more relaxed, a little funkier, and it invites listeners to enjoy the track in a new way without losing the heart of what made it work in the first place.
Released via RouteNote on March 28, 2025, DANCE (DSCO Remix) is a sign of what’s to come for both artists. For roseboy, it’s a chance to revisit a past success and breathe some new life into it. For DSCO, it’s the first step in a project that aims to explore the intersection of electronic and retro-inspired music, not through flashy gimmicks, but with thoughtful grooves and an ear for melody.
