Much like TikTok, you can now switch between Following and For You-like feeds on Reels, with this new option on Instagram.

As with other short-form platforms, like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, the usual Reels feed is an algorithmically-sorted feed of recommended videos, based on your activity on Instagram. Like, follow or watch a full video on music production? Instagram will start serving you more of that content. But what if you just want to catch up on the latest videos from accounts you follow?

To compete with TikTok, which has three tabs – ‘Following’, ‘Shop’ and ‘For You’, Instagram follows suit and adds a new toggle to the Reels feed, letting you switch to ‘Following’. This new ‘Following’ feed is a chronological feed of videos only from accounts you follow. To switch feeds, simply tap ‘Reels’ in the top left corner, then ‘Following’.

This new toggle was only on one of the accounts I tested, so it appears to still be rolling out to users. Otherwise, it could be restricted based on how much you use Reels or how many accounts you follow.
