How to get recommended on Instagram

Found in Feed, Explore and Reels, recommended posts are photos and videos from accounts you don’t follow that Instagram thinks you’ll like.
While recommended posts on Instagram have gained a lot of negative press in the past couple of months, like them or more likely not, they are an important feature for all creators and artists looking to share their content with new audiences across all platforms.
Recommendations are based on a number of signals including interactions such as likes, comments, shares and saves. Follow the tips below to get your own content on Instagram recommended to potentially thousands of new fans. The first three are required, while the rest are suggestions:
- Follow Instagram’s Recommendation Guidelines
- Follow Instagram’s Community Guidelines
- Be a public account
- Post original content
- Create engaging reels
- Use a handle or profile name that relates to your content
- Include relevant keywords in the bio
- Add a caption with keywords and a couple of hashtags – not too many and not in the comments
Find more details in Instagram’s blog post and their recommendations handbook.
