Razer introduces Clio, a headrest-mounted speaker cushion that delivers immersive THX Spatial Audio and 14 hours of wireless playback.

Razer has announced the launch of the Clio, a wireless speaker designed to attach to high-back gaming or office chairs, providing an alternative to traditional headphones. Combining comfort and surround sound, the Clio aims to enhance long gaming or media sessions without the fatigue of wearing headsets.

Fitted with adjustable straps, the Clio can be secured to most high-backed chairs, positioning its dual speaker wings just behind the user’s head. Inside each wing is a 43mm driver paired with a passive radiator, engineered to deliver what Razer describes as “crisp, clear trebles and deep, punchy bass you can hear and feel.”

The Clio offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity to devices such as smartphones, tablets, and handheld consoles, while also supporting Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless protocol for ultra-low latency connections to gaming PCs. This makes it suitable for both casual listening and fast-paced gaming where sound lag can affect performance.

To create a more immersive audio experience, the Clio features THX Spatial Audio support. This technology is designed to simulate three-dimensional sound positioning, enhancing the realism of in-game environments or cinematic playback. In addition to standalone use, the Clio can function as a rear channel speaker in a 7.1 surround sound setup, offering flexibility for users with more complex audio systems.

Powering the speaker is a 5,400mAh battery, providing up to 14 hours of use on a single charge. This makes it ideal for extended use without needing to be frequently recharged.

If you’re looking for an alternative to traditional over-ear headphones, the Razer Clio is now available for preorder at $229.99, with shipping expected to begin on 16th May 2025, via Razer’s online store.
