Break up your videos with some interactive fun as over 75 games are becoming available to play for everyone on YouTube.

YouTube want to know if you’ve “noticed anything different on YouTube lately?”. That’s because they’ve introduced Playables, a collection of free games that users can play in the YouTube app.

YouTube have made Playables available to a select set of users in recent months. Now, Playables are coming to everyone within their app. Over 75 games are available to play, all loaded via the web within the YouTube mobile app.

Games available include Angry Birds Showdown, Words of Wonders, Cut the Rope, as well as classics like Chess and 8 Ball Billiards. All of the games are small-scale and therefore simple to play (and load), presumably made not to consume all of your time but as a fun bonus between browsing videos.

How to find YouTube Playables games:

  1. Head to the main YouTube Home page, either on desktop or the iOS and Android app and find Playables from the Explore menu.
  2. Choose from 75+ games and jump right in! You can ever share the game with friends by tapping the three-dot more menu.

Your game progress and high scores will save to your Google account so that when you load the game up again another time, you can continue from where you were.

If you have thoughts about Playables and how they could be improved, you can send feedback to YouTube by tapping on the three-dotted “More” menu.

YouTube are rolling out Playables to all users over the next few months, so if you can’t currently see or access them then you should be able to soon.
