Audible seem to have noticed the podcast boom happening right now and will be expanding their free audio content with loads of new podcasts for users.

Audible is Amazon’s home for audiobooks and is a hugely popular platform around the world. Making a platform from providing books to people via audio, rather than reading it, it makes sense that podcasts would fit neatly alongside them.

With the aim of catching up with the huge rise in the popularity of podcasts and bolstering their new Audible Plus membership, Amazon are adding 100,000 podcasts to their platform. They currently offer podcasts alongside audiobooks that are available as free bonuses to subscribers.

The incredible success of podcasts on music streaming services like Spotify and Deezer, it’s only logical that Audible – as a talk-only audio platform already – should appeal to this audience and bolster their offerings.
