Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference is set for June 9- here’s what may be announced.

Apple has officially announced that WWDC25 will take place from June 9 to June 13. The Worldwide Developers Conference is where Apple unveils its latest software updates, providing developers with insights and unique access to Apple experts.

What’s happening at WWDC25?

WWDC is primarily an online event, with an exclusive in-person experience that will take place at Apple Park on June 9. Developers, students, and press will have the opportunity to watch the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union live, as well as connect with Apple engineers and designers through sessions and labs. These opportunities are not exclusive to the in-person experience, as online participants can also engage in interactive sessions this year.  As always developers can access online for free, but need to apply in order to attend the special event at Apple Park.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community. We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

Susan Prescott, Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations at Apple

What’s expected to be announced?

Every WWDC kicks off with a highly anticipated Keynote event, where Apple walks through the upcoming software updates to its devices. This year, reports suggest that iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 will feature a dramatic design overhaul, including refreshed icons, menus, apps, while trying to create a more consistent experience across devices.

Here’s a breakdown of the software updates expected at WWDC 25:

  • iOS 19
  • iPadOS 19
  • macOS 16
  • visionOS 3
  • watchOS 12
  • tvOS 19

Potential hardware announcements?

While WWDC primarily focuses on software, Apple occasionally teases hardware announcements. There are currently no rumours of major hardware announcements, but Apple has previously used WWDC to unveil new Macs. With most Macs recently updated, and the MacBook Pro expected to get updates later in 2025, the only potential new hardware could be an updated Mac Pro.

Apple will release more details leading up to WWDC25 through the Apple Developer app and the WWDC25 website. As usual, the WWDC Keynote will be available to stream on Apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, the Apple TV, and YouTube.
