As Apple gears up its launch of iOS 26, a recent Apple Music beta shows what Android users can expect moving forward.

Apple Music is currently beta testing version 5.0.0 for Android ahead of its upcoming iOS 26 update this fall, according to 9to5Google.

However, unlike the more dramatic UI overhaul that is coming to Apple devices and their apps, Android users can expect more minimal changes.

What’s new?

UI changes

There’s no sweeping interface changes here, with just a few minor tweaks. The shuffle, repeat, and autoplay buttons have swapped their more rectangular edges for smoother and more-rounded pill-shaped designs. The play and shuffle buttons on album pages have also seen the same revamp.

Pin your favourite music

A standout new feature is the ability to pin songs, albums, artists, and playlists to the top of your Library. The much-anticipated “Pin Music to Your Library” feature makes finding your go-to tracks easy without endlessly scrolling through your music library.

Pins sync across all devices, and there’s an option for automatic downloads so your favourites are ready offline. If you don’t want automatic downloads, the option can be disabled within settings.

Unpinning music is simple too, just head to your Library and remove them whenever you like.

Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation

The beta also spotlights two new features: lyric translation and pronunciation. They’re designed to help users understand music in different languages and sing along to tracks for those who usually struggle with getting lyrics right.

These features were first announced at WWDC25 for iOS and are now being trialed for Android.

An updated Apple Music experience

Apple Music’s new pinning and lyrics features are anticipated to drop across all devices, including Apple’s.

While Android isn’t getting Apple’s upcoming Liquid Glass UI, these updates still improve the listening experience. With iOS 26 just around the corner, users should expect a more polished Apple Music experience soon.
