Amazon unveil the “best-sounding Echo ever”
Amazon have revealed new Echo speakers including their most “advanced” speaker yet and upgrades to fan favourites.
Amazon’s 2025 hardware event took place at the end of September, revealing a spectrum of exciting new products. For music and home assistant lovers, two new Echo speakers have been unveiled offering the best Amazon smart speaker experiences to date.
The speakers bring new technology and upgrades to Alexa with their new AI powered Alexa Plus. The show also revealed two new smart displays with the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8.
Amazon’s new and improved Echo Studio speaker

Top of the line is the new Echo Studio smart speaker, their “most advanced and best-sounding Echo ever” according to Amazon’s VP of Alexa and Echo, Daniel Rausch. The speaker is designed for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos with a custom woofer and three full-range drivers.
The new Echo Studio is powered by Amazon’s AZ3 Pro chip, their state of the art technology with advanced conversation and language models. Enhancing the speaker’s assistant capabilities even more is the inclusion of early access to Alexa Plus, Amazon’s AI upgraded voice assistant.
Despite all of its updates, the new Studio speaker is 40% smaller than the original model. The Amazon Echo Studio will cost $219.99, is available for preoder now, and will ship on October 29th.
Users will be able to connect up to five Stuio or Echo Dot Max speakers together with Fire TV streaming sticks to create a surround sound system. This ‘Alexa Home Theater’ will only be available on compatible Fire TV sticks.
Which brings us to the next speaker in the lineup: The Echo Dot Max.
Amazon reveal the Echo Dot Max

This upgrade to the famous Dot speaker brings a redesigned sound system that promises nearly three times more bass. The Max also features two speakers unlike the original Dot, as well as a high-excursion woofer and a custom tweeter.
The design is updated as well, with a flat face presenting the user with control buttons and an LED light ring. Featuring the same AZ3 processor as their new Studio speaker, the Dot Max features increased assistant power and can be joined to Studio speakers and other Dot Max speakers in the ‘Alexa Home Theater’.
Amazon says that their new range offers “the most powerful Echo devices we have ever created”. The Dot Max costs $99.99, is available for preorder, and will ship on October 29th.
